Review: WTB Pure V Pro Saddle

By in Reviews

I don’t know about you, but a good saddle can be a real deal breaker when it comes to having a good day on the bike. All too often I’ve had a good days riding ruined thanks to the affects of an uncomfortable saddle. When looking for a new saddle, finding one that is right for you can be pretty tricky as we all come in different shapes and sizes. The Pure V Pro is packed with some great features, which together all lead to a saddle that won’t force you to have an uncomfortable ride.

The Pure V Pro features a “drop-nose” design at the front and complimented in the rear with a broader platform, called the “whale-tail”, which helps with pedaling while seated. I fitted this to my trail bike and have so far found it incredibly comfortable, durable and a pleasure to use. WTB have been producing highly acclaimed saddles for many years now and know a thing or two about comfort and the Pure V Pro is no different.

Designed around two main features aptly named the “Love Channel” and the “Comfort Zone” which together, reduce and relieve pressure across the saddle and after so much time on another manufacturers saddle, one which I honestly thought was comfortable, well, all I can say is what a difference! The Pro V is claimed to also be a favorite amongst WTB athletes Wade Simmons and Thomas Vanderham and I can certainly see this saddle making an appearance on my DH bike for those long summer days pedaling from the shuttle run to the trail head.

Weight wise, your looking at a very respectful 260g which is great considering this is £45GBP saddle and combined with the unique NICro tubular rails which have a similar weight to  strength ratio as titanium, all help. All in all I’ve been very impressed with Pure V Pro, it’s great value for money considering all the features and materials used in it’s construction and by all accounts looks like it will look great after a winter of foul weather and mud too. If your looking for a tough saddle at a good price with top notch comfort and durability, look no further!
