Proper kit for tomorrows riders! One Industries kids kit…
For 2016, One Industries and sister company 661 have answered many a parents prayers and introduced trail riding kit for the younger rider – proper kit for little rippers!
In previous times if your child was into riding and wanted riding specific kit they generally had two choices – cross country lycra clad whippet or full face and mx pants downhill grom.
Enter One Industries kids kit – the new youth Atom range.
Although not extensive in its size, the kit will fill a huge hole in the market. The One Industries kids kit range consists of, jersey, shorts and gloves, and although smaller in size is as big in features as its adult counterparts. Our mate Ruby has been riding with the kit for the past couple months and is exceptionally happy with its performance and feel…

One Industries have obviously thought long and hard about these shorts, the polyester spandex mix material is both light and breathable. The shorts come with both belt loops and and internal adjusters to ensure a perfect fit – important for young riders who are constantly growing.
The internal Velcro adjusters mean there’s no tricky buttons for gloved hands to contend with if on the fly adjustments need to be made. It’s also nice to see the Velcro has been added soft side up so theres no rough edges exposed too rub the rider. Two standard front pockets and a generous zipped side pocket mean theres plenty of space for them to stash their Haribo’s. A detachable padded liner complete the package meaning the can do day-long rides in full comfort.
We love the bright orange colour that our shorts came in but if your child is like Ruby and tends to be drawn to puddles then we found we need to pre-soak the shorts to avoid muddy shadows and keep them their original vibrant colour. Also if your child is tall for their age we noticed the shorts do ride up to reveal the liner if they are sat down pedalling, so it’s worth considering sizing up to get the extra leg length.
Product Full Name | Youth Atom Jersey

For the money this jersey represents amazing value, both lightweight and breathable it does exactly as it should with the relaxed cut meaning it never rides up or feels stretched in any direction.
The cartoon slime design makes this the ultimate and coolest kids inspired riding jersey – definitely our favourite in the One Industries Kids Kit range.
Product Full Name | Youth Zero Slime Gloves
Retail Price | £16.99
Available From | Hotlines
To complement the new kids jersey, One Industries Kids Kit range also sees the slime design ooze its way down the arms and onto its youth Zero gloves. The gloves as the rest of the kit are built for trail riding and have no padding or palm reinforcement – so if your child is prone to spending as much time off the bike as on it you might want to check out 661’s Youth Comp Glove (RRP £15.99).
The Zeros come in a pull-on fit so sizing is essential to get the right for for those little hands – but even after using them for a couple months, the rubber on the end of the two brake fingers shows no sign of wear unlike many more expensive adults gloves we’ve had. Although that may just be down too Ruby not grabbing the brakes as much as the rest of us do!
