There’s a lot of decent MTB riding kit around, and right now Endura, One Industries and Madison are looking really strong. Bright, bold colours work really well, and technical features are more prominent than ever.

Here’s a few things we’ve been riding in – more essential MTB gear soon.

Madison clothing

Flux Gloves | £24.99

Alpine men’s short sleeve jersey | £32.99

Alpine FR Shorts | £54.99

Available from: www.madison.cc

Madison have been making bike kit since 1977, and using experience from over the years have recently been pumping out some incredible value items of riding kit – although not just hitting price points. Madison MTB riding kit is made from excellent fabrics and all but the simplest jerseys are  crammed with technical features normally seen on much pricier high-end kit.

Endura

MT500 Print Jersey | £34.99

Burner Ratchet Short | £59.99

Available from: www.endurasport.com

In 1992, Endura founder Jim McFarlane returned from a 14month stay in Sydney to find he was fed up with sub-standard cycling kit on offer, and got to work developing a range of clothing that would offer good value and would endure the test of time. The name came naturally, and in time they launched a specific range of MTB riding kit at a pivotal time when there was a lot of below average kit on the market. Their name became cemented in MTB, and the continue to make great clothing – although the recent addition of a splash of colour is winning them new fans and gaining them visibility amongst the louder companies out there.

Endura make our favourite waterproof short of all time – the MT500 Waterproof short – which is tough, a great fit and really does live up to it’s name. The price isn’t day light robbery either, which we love.

 One Industries

Atom Icon Jersey | £29.99

Atom Short | £54.99

Sector Glove | £29.99

Available from: www.oneindustries.com

Hailing from the world of Motocross, One Industries know about tough fabrics and how to make things comfortable. After a few years of working with Atherton Racing, they entered the world of MTB riding kit and are now making some really good kit. The gloves in particular are on our personal favourites list, as well as the Atom short – which is a long, stretchy and lightweight short – perfect for taller riders…
