INTRODUCING THE ALL NEW 2013 SANTA CRUZ V10 CARBON

November 20th, 2012

By Factory Jackson in Tech

Well hello there! We asked at Eurobike and knew something was coming, but here it is, the all new fully carbon Santa Cruz V10 – With 64 World Cup podiums, 14 World Cup Wins and 3 World Championship Golds, the Santa Cruz V10 is so far ahead of the game it’s in danger of requiring a biological passport. The all new, all carbon, V10 is now the lightest and strongest downhill bike in the World. Honed from years of refinement through brutal testing by the Santa Cruz Syndicate, the V10 is now identical to the bikes Minnaar, Peaty and Bryceland race.

Proprietary carbon molding techniques deliver a sub 7 lb frame that’s nearly 2 lbs lighter than before, yet stronger than ever.
So much so, we’ve extended our warranty to 5 years, maintained the lifetime guarantee on bearings and still cover the crash replacement policy.

“When you cut a frame open, you expose everything. Besides being able to see the wall thickness in different locations, one can see the surface finish internally – which is related to how well the layers of carbon are compacted together during the curing process. When there are internal wrinkles of carbon – those plies aren’t doing anything but increasing weight. On our frames, we don’t use ANY filler materials or foam that stays in the frame – and our front triangles are laid up and molded together in ONE piece, instead of gluing pieces together. This allows continuous fibers to carry the load, increasing stiffness, strength and decreasing overall weight. It’s a lot of small things that all come together, getting inside the frame allows you to see what’s real – and can’t be hidden behind a fancy paint job.” – Joe.
