UK Enduro Series Preview
The UK Enduro series, organised and run by Neil Delafield from Red Kite Events, is about to kick off and Factory Jackson will be there racing and covering each round of the series as the year unfolds.
Neil recently invited all media partners and sponsors along for a ‘meet and greet’ day which generally consisted of a little meeting and greeting, some eating, and fortunately for all involved plenty of riding around the woods acting like a 4 year old in Toys-r-us!

‘‘I just want to run a race series which is technically challenging and physically tough but is informal and fun at the same time’’
Neil Delafield
Once we’d scoffed all of the tasty finger food at the very cute cafe, the Drover’s Rest in d, we donned our bikes and headed out to get a feeler for what round one has in store for us.
The best words to describe what was encountered would be ‘steep, loamy and challenging – racers are going to have to earn their beers at this venue! The stages are the epitome of natural, un-groomed single track – perfect for testing riders of all abilities with steep tight corners, tonnes of off-camber roots and plenty of ‘get-high-or-die’ induced giggling – it’s going to be good!
Something that was immediately clear when chatting with Neil, is just how willing he is to listen to feedback. At a time where Enduro as a sport, rather than just a hobby, is still very much in its infancy and trying to find its feet, meeting an event organiser like Neil is hugely refreshing.

Expect a very chilled out vibe and plenty of very challenging tracks – but with an emphasis on good times on two wheels. UK Enduro Series is run by a team focused on making a series the best it can be, for you – the riders.
There’s the option to race a 1 day format (Sunday only) which will be blind, or a 2 day format (Saturday and Sunday) where Saturday morning is practice with timed runs in the afternoon and Sunday is again, blind racing.

We love this idea, it allows for all riders of different abilities and different time constraints, to come and experience national level Enduro racing. Another nice feature, further compounding the chilled out vibe, is that there’ll be no official transition times or start orders, ride at your own pace with your own mates – sounds like perfection to us!
UK Enduro Round 1 kicks off on 19/20th March in the Crychan Forest, near Llanwrtyd Wells.
Head over to mtb-enduro.co.uk for full information, and details of how to enter.
In the meantime, have a laugh watching us head-nod our way down a barely ridden tech fest of a trail, on a bike we’d never ridden!
