DirtTV World Cup PMB Finals Video and FJ Race Summery

April 25th, 2011

By Factory Jackson

Dirt TV smashed it again with this awesome edit from the Parkin’s and what can only be described as an interesting and awesome start to the season with a few surprises in the mens top ten and some disappointments too (namely Brendan’s off – hope he’s back for Fort Bill!). Great to see Fabien back in the mix, he’s certainly been missed and with Peaty charging through to the podium and with Bryceland in the top ten – things just got better! But the biggie of the event has to go to Trek World Racing who simply dominated the event, taking the mens and women’s wins and in absolute class, with Tee-Mo getting the rainbows back on top of a podium and Gwin, well, he absolutely smashed the course to pieces finding ways of bending time and space and cementing what many of us have known for a while – there is more coming from this one, that’s for sure, especially when you consider he’s only been doing this for 3 years!

The first round of the 2011 World Cup series has marked the end of the USA’s lack of top DHers in the sports upper ranks and done it in style with their first win since Palmer at Big Bear back in ’99. The Americans always brought something special with them to the races and it’s awesome to have Gwin in the mix and throwing it down – did no one have the stars and bars for him on the podium? I’m sure he’ll be packing it next time and what did people make of Aaron’s new haior, where’s the ginger gone – maybe that was the key? More like unreal skills and winter of solid graft preparing to do Trek and America proud!

The track might not have been to everyone’s liking, but come the big show, the riders showed what consummate professionals they are putting down an awesome show that caused Freecaster’s server  to struggle to wit all the traffic – this is what it’s all about and DH is buzzing right now. Lets not forget the 4X – the track looked awesome and the racing tight with some interesting moves; it was great to see Scotty B get in the top ten and Gravesy taking the win in style.

Onwards and upwards it seems and thankfully Factory Jackson will be physically at the next round in Fort William, Scotland taking in the racing and catching up with the boys and girls who race bicycles down mountains. There will be more PMB video as we go through the week so stay tuned for more action form South Africa. Happy Trails!
