Race Face 2017 Agent Waterproof shorts, Softshell Jacket and Charge Sub-Zero kneepads

Although it’s not cold yet, and the trails are still dry – we’re just waiting for things to change!

Race Face have just sent us some new threads that are perfect for the winter conditions we’re used to. Before we get out and get dirty in the new Race Face 2017 gear, check out the full details below:

Race Face 2017 Agent Softshell Jacket

Race Face 2017 Agent Softshell jacket

Matching up to their usual standards, the Race Face 2017 Agent Softshell jacket is a really nice quality item. Lovely fabrics, and lots of decent detailing. Really looking forward to getting mucky in this as the breathability should be excellent.

Made from 100% polyester 2.5ply fabric, the Agent Softshell Jacket is a 10,000mm waterproof and 10,000m2 breathable jacket – making it perfect for our mostly clammy winter conditions.

Here’s the full lowdown:

  1. Attached Hood – The 3-point adjustable hood has bungee cord on each side to customise fit. A third shock cord at back offers micro-adjustment and magnet connection keeps the hood from flapping around while you’re ripping trails.
  2. Flow through ventilation – Two welded and stitched zippered chest vents and a mesh-lined, bar tacked vent across the back shoulder blades.
  3. High collar with brushed tricot lined chin and zipper garage – Provides comfort and protection from the elements.
  4. Adjustable waist system – easy-adjust shock cord and release at inner hem.
  5. Custom branded rubber cuff adjusters – Keeps snow, wind, and rain from seeping in at the wrists
  6. Hand pockets that double as vents.
  7. £119.95
  8. Available from Silverfish

Race Face 2017 Agent Winter Shorts

Race Face 2017 Agent Winter waterproof shorts

The Race Face 2017 Agent Winter short is an updated version of last year’s short – and now has a waterproof crotch panel that matches up to the waterproof and breathable spec of the rest of the short.

We loved the Agent Winter short last year (check our waterproof shorts group test here) as a cold weather short thanks to the warm lining, gaiters to stop the draft out and waterproof construction. They did let moisture in through the toughened cordura crotch though, so we’re pleased to see the 2017 model has a reinforced waterproof crotch instead – we can’t wait for wet rides to test them out!

Here’s the full spec:

  1. 3-ply waterproof fabric.
  2. 10K/10K waterproof/breathability rating.
  3. External waistband adjustment system.
  4. Soft brushed inner waistband.
  5. Raised back panel for additional coverage while in riding position.
  6. Waterproof zippers throughout.
  7. Branded zipper pullers throughout for ease of use with gloves.
  8. Internal weather protecting gaiter system.
  9. Rear ventilation system.
  10. £84.95
  11. Available from Silverfish

Race Face 2017 Charge Sub Zero kneepads

Race Face 2017 Charge Sub Zero knee warmers

The Race Face 2017 Charge Sub-Zero is a minimal knee guard that will keep away knocks and scratches whilst keeping you warm. Note – it’s not a protective knee pads, but more of a souped up knee warmer.

We’re huge fans of the lightweight Charge knee guard. Not to be confused with a full-on knee pad, the Charge is a slip on lightweight pad, with a kevlar cover – but feels more like a knee warmer. This is the new winter spec version with a  warm Roubaix style lining – these will be enough for all but the most bitter days in our neck of the woods.

Full details right here:

  1. Stretch thermal brushed back fleece for comfortable weather protection.
  2. Foam panel impact zone with stretch Kevlar cover for shred proof durability.
  3. Silicone gripper along inner top opening ensures stay-put fit.
  4. Silicone patch at shin eliminates slippage.
  5. Extra length for cold-weather coverage
  6. £32.95
  7. Available from Silverfish
