Trans Provence territory – the story with Melissa Munro

Following on from the excellent video with the Ride Housemartin team of Anka and Sven Martin, comes this great video with Melissa Munro.

Melissa, along with her husband Ash Smith, is behind the famous Trans Provence race – and when not planning out the race of performing family duties can be found out guiding in the amazing trails of the Trans Provence route…

What started as a relatively small and low key event in the Southern French MTB paradise has grown in to one of the most popular MTB Enduro events on the calendar – and a bucket list destination for many mountain bikers.

The Trans Provence event itself takes a huge amount of planning from both Melissa and Ash as it covers such an enormous route – but they have to fit it around family life too, and the other side of the business.

When the Trans Provence event is over, Melissa has to juggle their family life with planning and hosting guided trips on the very same trails of the Sospel region in France that make the event so incredibly popular.

This month’s Going Places video from Juliana Bikes sheds some light on Melissa’s role in the organisation, and shares her experience of mountain biking in this stunning pocket of the MTB world.

Essential viewing – and if you’ve not ridden the trails of the Trans Provence, you sure as hell will want to after this:

If you’re not in to racing and competing but still love the idea of the Trans Provence event – check out the website here for details of their guided holiday packages – where you can ride the exact race route, but at a more relaxed pace, taking in the stunning locations and staying in remote accommodation.
