Sixth Element wheels – amazing value Plus Size carbon hoops

Sixth Element wheels are the brainchild of Graham Stock, an MTB enthusiast based near Manchester. With the increase in carbon production in the last few years, Graham saw an opportunity to build some top quality wheelsets with less middleman salaries thrown into the mix.

This means he can provide high-end, hand built carbon wheels at a very reasonable cost. Sixth Element
After extensive research, the Sixth Element rims are made in the far-east and laid up using unidirectional Toray T 700 carbon weave.

There’s extra weave around the spoke holes for increased reinforcement. All of their wheels use hookless technology and smooth sidewalls resulting in a huge surface area to almost eradicate the chances of burping, even with very low pressures.
Sixth Element also offers a no quibble 2 year guarantee as well as a very fairly priced crash replacement program, should you huck off a mini skyscraper and wonder why you’ve broken your wheels!

All wheels are laced by hand, left to settle overnight and then readjusted and checked rigorously before despatch.

Additionally they all come pre-taped and with Mavic tubeless valves installed meaning they’re genuinely tubeless ready.
27.5 and 29 inch wheelsets are available, as are cross/gravel wheels too. All are built using 32 Sapim double butted spokes using either Chris King or Hope hubs for reliability and performance.Sixth Element

A variety of Sixth Element rim widths are also available depending on their intended use and your personal preference.

Our test wheels are the widest option at 50mm external and 45mm internal.

This was chosen due to them being installed on our #frankenbike test bike – the Mondraker Crafty r+. Our first impressions are of a superb build quality and attention to detail, especially when you consider the insanely good value for money at under £900 delivered to your door.Sixth Element

Add in the fact that the Sixth Element wheels are uber-stiff and weigh in at approximately 1800g for the pair, and you’ve got a seriously pimp wheelset without having to re-mortgage the house or sell the kids.

Keep an eye on Factory Jackson and we’ll keep you up to date with their reliability and what it does to the ride quality of the #frankenbike.
