Yeti SB5.5C brings an Enduro ready 29er to the Yeti club

The iconic mountain bike brand Yeti Cycles has just unveiled their latest steed, which is possibly the nicest we’ve seen to come out of the Yeti factory to date.

Just when you thought the 29in movement had swayed back towards the XC side of things, a few progressive companies have been releasing 29er hard hitting bikes – and the Yeti SB5.5C is in that realm…

Yeti SB5.5c

The Yeti SB5.5c is has a slack head angle for attacking rough terrain at whatever speed you dare, and comes in this awesome grey finish – which we think makes it look like a double-hard-bastard. Sign us up for one of these bad boys right now!

The SB5.5c bridges Trail, All-Mountain and Gravity riding in one versatile package.

Already tested and proven under the likes of EWS champion Richie Rude, and Yeti’s in-house test team, this lightweight bike powers up lung burning technical climbs, and hauls like a freight train when you point it downhill.

Shortened chain stay, aggressive suspension spec and progressive geometry make this one hell of a bike to point and shoot with. It’s not your average  Friday afternoon pootle bike – this thing is a 9-5 shredder.

Here are the main things you need to know about the Yeti SB5.5c:

  1. 29” Wheels
  2. 140mm of Switch Infinity rear travel
  3. Fox Float X Factory DPS rear shock
  4. 66.5 degree headangle
  5. ISCG 05
  6. 148mm x 12mm Boost rear axle
  7. High modulus Carbon Fibre frame
  8. Collet axle system
  9. Custom downtube and chain guards
  10. £6899 – as shown.
  11. Available from Silverfish

Of course, it wouldn’t be right if the Yeti SB5.5C didn’t come in the classic Yeti Blue too. as with all Yeti bikes, this colour lets everyone know you’re part of the club – which even after all these years, still has that exclusive feel.

We’re awaiting further details, but this complete bike, ready to race as you see it is just under £6900 has a no-holds barred spec including:
