Video | Sean Watson – Dead On Arrival

Canadian street trials rider Sean Watson has a riding style that pulls from many different disciplines but is 100% his own. As part of the formidable Inspired Bicycles team Sean gets to ride and travel the globe which he does brakeless.

In this latest edit Sean flew to Barcelona to ride with the rest of the Inspired team but an early injury side-lined him for most of the trip so he put together this great edit of his time in Spain.

Factory Jackson fired some questions at Sean to find out a little more about the man with no brakes.

FJ – Name, age and where are you from?
SW – My name is Sean Watson and I am from Edmonton Alberta right now.

FJ – What fills your days when you’re not riding bikes?
SW – Painting and hanging out with the old friends of KILLROY (art and design) take up the most of my spare time.

FJ – Why brakeless and why trials?
SW – Well I started with trials… But what I do now is most certainly not trials, it’s got a trials influence I suppose. And brake less just feels right.

FJ – How long have you been riding and what got you started?
SW – About 11 years now, the past couple years have been a little tough with surgeries and injuries, but that’s the way it’s played I suppose. I got into riding strictly because I had a good time when I was riding with friends… So I stuck with it.

FJ – What motivates you to get out and go riding?
SW – Riding in itself is what motivates me. I feel complete when I ride my bike, there is no feeling that could compare to riding around choosing and looking for strange street lines to do. It’s satisfying to me.

FJ – You ride some very creative lines in your videos but where does the inspiration come from?
SW – The inspiration comes from many places. Inspiration is something that’s hard to place as I take it from things I see and think of, as well as different things I’ve seen people do. So really it can come from anywhere. Inspiration is all around!

FJ – Best place to ride that you’ve visited?
SW – I wish I was not hurt in Barcelona because that’s my favourite place for sure! Really though anywhere that is hot all year round I’m happy with!

FJ – What’s your favourite trick to pull?
SW – Favourite trick… No such thing really. I do really like fast plants though.

FJ – Other than riding what makes you happy?
SW – Places that are hot all year round. Haha.

FJ – Describe yourself in three words.
SW – Cat Universe Killer

FJ – What companies keep you riding?
SW – Inspired Bicycles is the main one, Hope has been quite nice to me as well as mud sweat and gears. So thanks to all of you for keeping me on the bike!
