SCOTT Releases New All Mountain Line
August 1st, 2013

At Eurobike last year the sheer volume of new and exciting product did a lot to dampen the senses, but of all the brands and products on show, Scott looked like a brand on the move, and moving in the right direction. At the time, I think I said they were embracing the fact that they were a true European brand and rather than following what Trek and Specialized are doing, simply did what they thought was right for them – Euro done right perhaps? I think so.
The colours, the design and a perhaps fascination with tailoring everything to the individual, Scott do what they do and quite unlike anyone else…
Although the chinks in the armour were there for all to see, 2014 looks like it could be an important one for the Swiss company as they have embraced the fact that there were some minor grievances in their range and have come back with a bike like the Genius LT 700. While I’ve never ridden one and therefore can’t say for sure, the numbers add up, as does the fact that it looks like a lot of fun to ride!
We’ve been testing some of their ’13 apparel this year and so far and have been more than impressed, and as you’ll see from the following photos and information, Scott have some rad stuff for the discerning mountain biker with a penchant for Euro done right…
Press Release: “An integral piece in the new collection is the SCOTT Stego. Now more than ever, aggressive trail riders need a helmet that is up to the job. The Stego was designed and tested by world class mountain bikers, and born from a passion for style and innovation. Our designers made it a point to have class leading coverage, and to integrate the MIPS brain protection system. This helmet was designed by all mountain riders for all mountain riders.
Besides the Genius LT 700 Tuned, SCOTT engineers set up the Genius 700 Tuned. The 150mm travel bike with 27.5″ wheels weighing in at only 10.6kg – and is a ready-to-race enduro weapon too. Along with this new bike line, SCOTT created an entire head-to-toe enduro outfit, including the all new SCOTT Stego Enduro/All Mountain helmet, the Mind/Path clothing line, the new SCOTT Crafter backpack and the MTB Elite Boa Shoe.
On the bikewear side, the 2014 Mind/Path line follows the same logic. These technical yet stylish shirts and loose fit shorts have been designed for mountain bikers who like riding challenging single trails in stunning locations. Away with zippers and pockets everywhere: here the designs are clean, without leaving out any functionality.
The recently released Genius LT 700 Tuned is the new Enduro bike designed by SCOTT. It realizes the perfect balance of wheel size and travel. Utilizing 170mm of travel and an optimized 27.5″ wheel size geometry, this 12.4kg machine is more than just a “two-in-one” bike. Along with its new FOX suspension and SCOTT`s patented TwinLoc technology, it provides three distinct modes and geometry settings all controlled by one handle bar mounted lever. Its frameset weighs only 2450 grams- one of the lightest in its class. Together with the super stiff and ultra-light HMX Carbon Fiber, this responsive bike is designed for non-compromise enduro racing and maximized all mountain performance.
Women will discover the new Sumita/Sky collection, designed with many noticeable technical details for girls who like to push their limits on the bike. With feminine cuts and strong colors like red and orange, contrasting with dark grey or blue, every woman wearing this collection will look impressive on the trails.
