The first round of the World Cup always brings out the flash new gear and Fox wear not exception this year, hooking up Scotty Mears up with some uber-lary race kit. We heard it was bright, but when he rocked up early doors at the Burgtec van to pick up some proto carbon bars, we had to reached for the sunnies…

Fox dipped into its motocross range and pulled out the brightest number they could find in the form of the 360 Flight. Keep your eyes peeled for Scotty this weekend whipping it out and lighting up the dusty track here in sunny Fort William. Scotty was also sporting some new for 2014 Fox goggles – while this pair were just a sample, goggle nut Olly confirmed they were pretty special after prizing from Scotty for a quick look before heading up the mountain for practice. Keep an eye out for some more updates on these real soon and right here…
The All-New Fox AIRSPC Goggle
Off the back of bumping into Scotty Mears early this morning, we swanned over to the Fox tent for a closer look at the new AIRSPC MX goggle. Don’t be fooled by the MX tag though, these puppies are bang on for downhill duties and available in a swathe of colour ways…
Swapping out lenses is commonplace on goggles and Fox have used a simple, yet secure, 8-pin retention system to keep the 100% UV protection Lexan lens in securely in place. The lens also offers an anti-fog and anti-scratch treatment and around the face, Fox have addressed any problems with over bearing foam against the nostrils – these are crazy comfy, but we’ll have some reviews up later in the summer with all the details…
An increased peripheral viewing area is catered for with an enlarged outer frame and improved frame angle compared to previous offerings, but most of all, they just look rad!!!
The 19mm triple layer face foam is comfortable while keeping the seal to your face. The material is fast wicking keeping moisture to a minimum, further aiding the anti-fog properties of the goggle.
A 45mm non-slip silicone strap secures the goggle in place for an improved fit to the helmet.
