With photos popping up over the last few weeks of something new on the horizon from Santa Cruz Bicycles, the internet rumour mill was rife with talk of 650b and even a new freeride bike, but here it is, the first new bike from the iconic Californian brand of 2013 and what a belter it is! Having finally gotten around to making the awesome BLUR TR in a more economical aluminium version, Santa Cruz can now offer one of the funnest bikes out there at lower price point and also to those of you with a phobia of anything carbon fibre. With 125mm of VPP travel, relaxed angles coupled with some serious frame stiffness throughout, the TR begs to be thrashed and thrashed hard (check the video below), but there’s more including it being Reverb Stealth friendly and even sports 2 bottle cage mounts, just in case!
All the geometry remains the same and you even get the new 5 year warranty too. Sound good? You bet ya – With frames retailing in the UK for £1749, and available in either Satin Black/Gold and Gloss Red/Blue and complete bikes available from £3249, the choice is yours. The first shipment is due late February, so go hassle your local
The frame has turned out to be pretty darn stiff and has already become a favourite with Josh Bryceland as you can see from these stunning photos from Forrest Arakawa and the pure awesome, that is the edit below! More info when we have it, but for the meantime, hit Santa Cruz Bicycles for the lowdown!
