A Fond Farewell to Sam Hill from Specialized

December 31st, 2012

By Factory Jackson

When the dust has settled and the champagne consumed, most race fans will only know three things: who won, who did the biggest whip and where Sam Hill came. For everything this young Australian has done for the sport – literally transforming the way bikes are designed and even the way we ride them, but quite importantly for those he represents, he also sells product and is one of the most influential riders on the scene. From tattoos to TLD, the Sam Hill effect has been the biggest wave of influence in the sport since Shaun Palmer and Sam will only continue to be the baddest mother fucker on a downhill bike over the next few year, for that I’m sure… Fair play Nuke Proof – I’m buying shares!

“Sam Hill and Specialized are going their separate ways starting in 2013. All of us at Specialized would like to send our thanks to Sam. Thanks for the wins, time working on the bikes and equipment, and of course all the fantastic memories! Best of luck to him and his family next year and the years to come.”
