The camera brand of choice for those who can foot the bill and indeed, warrant their purchase are back with another model to add to their range of action sports ready digital cinematography equipment. Red is introducing the Epic-M Monochrome cinema camera, which packs an all-new black-white and white-only Mysterium X sensor, which RED claims offers a 15-20 percent increase in effective resolution over its chromatic sensor. The camera will also offer a native ISO of 2,000, over double that of the Epic-M and X chromatic cameras. Like its siblings, this new camera doesn’t come cheap, with a sticker price of $42,000 USD but those who opt to buy it come October will receive a free upgrade to the firm’s new Dragon Monochrome sensor when it releases next year.
