Fort Bill: Pits ‘n’ Bits Yo!

June 9th, 2012

By Nathan Carvell in Tech

Strolling the pits at a world cup means seeing rad product, many of which you’ll never be able to buy, plus the best riders in the world mingling, chilling and generally in the zone. We love it! Here’s some of what’s been on offer from round three of the UCI World Cup from Fort William Scotland. FJ’s Nathan Carvell brings us the goods…

Red camera’s are quickly becoming the woepon of choice amongst the sport’s elite videographers and it’s no surprise with the quality these beasts spit out and from looking at them, it’s no surprise they have Oakley’s founder at the company’s helm.

Adam Brayton’s neon yellow beast sure is a looker and with product dripping off it from Renthal, e*thirteen, Race Face and Fox Racing Shox, you know it’ll be ten up and sideways come Sunday, braaaap!

New carbon fibre DH cranks from Race Face are very nice indeed!

Easton’s new direct mount stem is very neat and tidy to say the least!

Just a few Scott Gambler protos. In the flesh, these are very, very nice…

Marc Beaumont relaxing just before heading up the lift to destroy qualifying! Really hoping Marc puts it down tomorrow.

Everyone was stoked to see this man back at a World Cup Downhill.

Raw carbon and bright pink certainly make an impression here with Sam Hill’s latest ‘one off’ charity bike for breast cancer research.

All alone this week end and unfortunately it looks like Monster Energy/ Specialized will be a man down for the remainder of the season with Troy Brosnan having just left hospital today. Healing vibes!

Team managers waiting anxiosuly at the bottom of the track is a famiair site around the pits.

You know your in the UK with crowds like this at the bottom of the track. There was even more on the mountain itself with around 20,00 specatators in attendance, there’s no wonder why Fort William is considered as having the best vibe.

The Fox Brigade was in force again this year and bigger and better than ever with queues stretching the length of the pits with fans eager to meet the team and get some signed swag.

Danny’s new Five Ten’s…

The force is strong with this one…

If you couldn’t make it this year, make it a priority for next year, but with no confirmation of the Fort yet in 2013, we can only hope it makes a return.
