The good people at Sicklines have put these two videos together featuring our friends Martin Astley and Will Longdon, giving you the run down on the 2012 Nukeproof Scalp and Snap line up, including a complete pro build Scalp for a staggering £3500!!! That’s right, and with full Sram X0, a Cane Creek DB and Boxxer World Cups to boot. Now that’s a serious bargain. Go hit ChainReactionCycles and Hotlines for more information.

Love the look of the Scalp and it’s a good price but not sure I want to own one. Brand snobbery or just don’t like the name/logo.

Nukeproof and Saracen have gone down an unusual routes to build their brand, especially when their name and subsequent brand image conjure up anything but bad ass mountain bikes and to be honest, have given themselves a boat load of extra marketing to enforce that the brand has changed and for the better. Personally I’d just hire a bad ass marketeer and start a new brand and put the money you’d spend on buying the rights to the old, existing name and put that into hiring some well known ripper to ride it. At the end of the day though, the Scalp and Myst are game changers and having ridden both, are pretty good bikes and that the prices they come in at, well, it should hopefully get more riders into DH.
